Mateo Ossa led the formation of Colpatria Capital in 2018 following a mandate by Mercantil Colpatria. Previously, between 2016 and 2018, Mr. Ossa was Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Mercantil Colpatria, a holding company with investments in Banking, Insurance, Construction, Mining, Energy, and Infrastructure. He joined the group while working as CIO at Colfondos, one of the four private pension fund administrators established in Colombia, where Mr. Ossa had responsibility over the investments of several portfolios with total assets under management of USD 11 billion. Previously, he worked for BBVA, Santander and Banco de Bogota where he held different positions as foreign exchange and fixed income trader, and later as portfolio manager.
Mr. Ossa has a B.A. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Miami.
Juan Camilo Cabrera joined Colpatria Capital in 2020. Prior to joining Colpatria Capital, he was a Director in the Global Industrials Investment Banking Group at Deutsche Bank in New York City where he advised industrial companies on M&A and debt and equity capital markets transactions. Before that, he worked at Accenture as a management consultant executing projects on topics including strategy, operations and technology for companies in the financial services industry.
He has three B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering, with honors, from Universidad de los Andes, a graduate degree in Corporate Finance from Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administracion and a M.B.A. from Cornell University.
He sits on the board of OPL Carga, a leading logistics provider in Colombia.
Juan Bosiga joined the team in 2020. Before that, he was a Portfolio Manager in BBVA Asset Management Colombia for two years, running several vehicles on local bonds with a scope to invest in international debt through international mutual funds. Before this, he spent five years running fixed income and equities portfolios at Colombian brokerage firms Ultraserfinco and Casa de Bolsa.
Juan has a B.S. in Economics and Business, and a M.S. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia). He also holds a M.S. in Finance from Tilburg University (the Netherlands), where he graduated with honors.
Yined Cárdenas joined Colpatria Capital in 2022. She worked as a fixed income trader for BBVA Colombia, where she traded corporate debt, implemented strategies of relative value in Colombian public debt and managed a short-term portfolio. Previously, she was a trader for Colfondos, a pension fund manager where she managed corporate debt, traded a variety of fixed income securities, and managed the liquidity of several portfolios. Yined has a bachelor's degree in public accounting from Universidad Central and M.S. in Finance from Universidad de los Andes.
Diego Ricol joined Colpatria Capital in 2019 to focus on diligence efforts regarding private equity investment opportunities.Before joining Colpatria Capital, he worked as an intern for a wealth management firm based in Miami supporting the construction of fixed income portfolios for clients based on their risk appetite.
Diego obtained his B.S. at Boston College, where he graduated in 2019 with a double concentration in Finance and General Management.
Vanessa Galeano joined Colpatria Capital in 2022. As former Investment Analyst in Corficolombiana, she performed a role focused on financial analysis and performance review of the companies within the corporation portfolio along with valuation of new investment opportunities. Prior to that, she worked as Investor Relations Analyst also in Corficolombiana where she coordinated shareholder meetings and press conferences, releasing financial data, and led financial analyst briefings. Before that, she worked at Compass Group and Valores Bancolombia as Investment Intern.
Vanessa has a bachelor's degree in Finance with emphasis on Capital Markets from Universidad Externado de Colombia, where she graduated in 2019 and was awarded for academic excellence.
Sergio Preciado joined Colpatria Capital in 2022. As former Senior Analyst in BBVA Asset Management Colombia, he performed a role focused on Risk Management and Mutual Funds Performance Analysis. Prior to that, he developed and tested methodologies to measure value and sensibility of financial instruments and derivates for PRECIA which is the top price provider in Colombia. Previously, he worked for Banco Agrario de Colombia as Risk Analyst. As a complement of his professional career, Sergio teaches Risk Management and Valuation in the B.S. and M.S. in Finance programs in Universidad del Rosario (Colombia). Sergio has a B.S. in Finance, and a M.S. in Quantitative Finance from Universidad del Rosario (Colombia), where he graduated with honors.
Erika Sanchez joined Colpatria Capital in 2022. As a former Financial Risk Auditor in Banco Itaú Corpbanca, she evaluated and audited processes associated to financial risks. Prior to that, she worked as a Financial Risk Analyst at Fidubogotá where she monitored regulatory indicators related to market and liquidity risk, and implemented methodologies in order to optimize the internal measurement of mutual investment funds. Before that, she worked at Banco AV Villas as Financial Risk Analyst.
Erika has a bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering from Universidad Piloto de Colombia, and is pursuing a master's degree in Finance at Universidad Externado de Colombia.
